BULK WASTE COLLECTION - RESPONSIBILITY AND FEES

As part of Walton County's contract with WM, Bulk Waste will be collected on a regular schedule at no cost to the residents, but to be collected it must meet the specific guidelines detailed below.

Bulk Waste that does not meet the guidelines will not be collected by WM, per contract, and the resident must schedule a separate collection of the materials. In addition, any costs associated with an out of specification collection will be the responsibility of the resident.

BULK WASTE - GUIDELINES AND SPECIFICATIONS

Please note: A separate truck collects Bulk Waste and does not follow the same route as your regular household waste collection.

Bulk Waste materials must meet the following guidelines to be collected:

1. Bulk Waste is defined as large items such as appliances (White Goods), furniture mattresses and other oversized waste
2. Maximum of 2-3 items per collection
3. Appliances and lawn mowers shall be free of freon, gasoline, oil and any other chemical substances.
4. Bulk Waste excludes combustible items, automotive/boat parts, Construction and Demolition Debris and waste generated from tree removal, land clearing, or development.  

Bulk Waste that does not meet the guidelines will not be picked up by WM, per the contract.  If you have a large amount of Bulk Waste you can bring the material to the Walton County Landfill at 1118 Institution Rd, for disposal at no charge to residents.  Alternatively, you can contact Waste Management and arrange for a separate pickup of the materials for which a fee will be charged.
