Driveway Connection Permit Policy and Procedure
The Walton County Board of Commissioners approved the Driveway Connection Permit Policy and Procedure at the April 9, 2024, Board of Commissioner’s meeting. Please read the following information to assist you in completing your driveway application. DRIVEWAY CONNECTION PERMIT POLICY AND PROCEDURE
Residential Driveway
Any connection, replacement, or repairs to driveways connecting to a County Facility requires a Driveway Permit.
For new construction, a Residential Driveway Connection Permit Application will be provided in conjunction with the building permit application packet.
For repairing or modifying an existing driveway connected to a County Facility, a Residential Driveway Permit application must be submitted to the Public Works Department for review and approval.
RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY PERMIT APPLICATION
General Use Driveway
For access to a County Facility not subject to a development order or building permit within either the unincorporated or incorporated areas of the County such as agricultural uses, silvicultural uses, recreational uses, or temporary uses.
A General Use Driveway Permit must be submitted to the Public Works Department for review and approval.
GENERAL USE DRIVEWAY PERMIT APPLICATION
Commercial Driveway or Development Projects within Municipality Limits
A development order may serve as the required driveway connection permit for commercial projects located in unincorporated portions of the county.
A commercial driveway connection permit shall be required for development projects proposing to access any County Facility located within incorporated municipalities. It is the Applicant’s responsibility to coordinate with Walton County Engineering/Public Works to apply for a driveway connection permit to a County Facility.
